About Bole Festival
Bole festival is a 2-day annual Rivers food festival that comes up in the city of Port-Harcourt. The event was founded by Kennedy Nonso Iwuh and its maiden edition was held in 2016 in Port-Harcourt city. Usually, attendees enjoy different delicacies of traditional Southern Nigerian food. However, the main meal of the festival is Port-Harcourt’s street food, Bole.
Bole is the traditional name of a popular street delicacy blend of plantain, potatoes, yam, and fresh fish. The delicacy is prepared the local way by roasting using firewood.
Although the festival is done to celebrate Port-Harcourt’s popular street food, it is also an avenue to showcase its rich culture. Additionally, the festival showcases popular food of the southern heritage generally.
Each year, the Bole festival attracts various food lovers, communities, and local and international brands to the beautiful coastal city of Port-Harcout. Of course, you should not be left out.
Activities lineup at the Festival
Besides the preparation and consumption of the local delicacy, other aspects of the festival include exhibitions from food vendors and international food enthusiasts and chefs.
